SSTU celebrates Cosmonautics Day

SSTU celebrates Cosmonautics Day 12.04.2016

Fifty five years ago, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin stunned the world by becoming the first person to travel to outer space when he completed an orbit of the Earth on 12 April 1961.

In honor of this memorable holiday SSTU have participated in some events dedicated to the First Manned Flight into Space.

The representatives of SSTU student government took part in different sport games, concerts and the festive meeting on the Cosmonauts Embankment.

On April, 10th there was a flash mob on Theatrical Square. Its participants made up a giant rocket out of their cars and after the final countdown the cars began to move round the square. You can watch the video here

On April, 9th SSTU students took part in the Vostok spaceship stele great opening in the City Park. The stele was installed at the entrance to the park.

On April, 6th our students planted trees in the memorable alley in Dubki aero club.
