The Saratov State Technical University discussed the issues of cooperation with the colleagues from the Republic of Belarus
Today, on April 19, Saratov State Technical University visited the delegation from Vitebsk Region of the Republic of Belarus. The distinguished guests participated in the round table on the theme "International cooperation in the sphere of science and education of Vitebsk Region of the Republic of Belarus and Saratov Region universities: development prospects.
The event was also attended by Roman Kovalsky, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Saratov Region, Minister of Agriculture of the Region, representatives of the ministries of education, economic development of the Region, the leading Belarusian universities and students, who came to Saratov from Belarus for studies.
The participants of the round table discussed the realization of joint projects and events and outlined the prospects of further cooperation in the sphere of education and science.
Welcoming speeches were made by Igor Ostroumov, Vice-rector for Science and Innovations of the Saratov State Technical University, and Tatiana Kasaeva, Vice-rector for International Relations of the University. The Head of the Department "Applied Mathematics and System Analysis" of Politech Alexander Zemlyanukhin, the Head of the Department "Branch Management and Economic Security" of the SSTU Veronica Becher and representatives of other Saratov universities told about the joint work with the Belarusian partner universities.
"Development of science and education in the international space is one of the main priorities of the technical university. Today SSTU has established cooperation with various universities from near and far abroad countries. We jointly implement educational programs and research projects, develop academic mobility, cooperate at the stage of pre-university training of foreign applicants. Among these partners are higher education institutions of Belarus, together with which I am sure we will increase the scientific, intellectual and educational potential of our higher school and, of course, make a valuable contribution to training qualified engineering staff for high-tech sectors of the economy. After all, creating breakthrough innovative technologies and on their basis forming our own production base is in the interests of any state. I should add that our university is a member of the Eurasian Association of Universities and a partner of Rossotrudnichestvo, within the framework of which it participates in foreign exhibitions," shared his opinion Rector of SSTU, Professor Sergey Naumov.
