The Saratov Regional Universal Scientific Library hosted a poetry evening dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin. The poems written by the great Russian poet were read by foreign students of Saratov.

The poetry evening was initiated by the Ministry of Internal Policy and Public Relations of the region together with the Youth Council for Interethnic Relations.

Gagarin State Technical University acted as a co-organizer of the event. The Polytechnic's Scientific and Technical Library has prepared a presentation on Pushkin's work and fairy tales, and the Department of International Communications has prepared a quiz about the poet's life and work. The winners of the quiz also received memorable gifts from the university.

The students of the courses of the Center for Language and Subject Training of the SSTU from Egypt, Awadallah Basma Ahmed Ibrahim Mohamed and Mahmoud Soad Esmat Mahmoud Mohamed, told the poems "I loved you ..." and "Wait for me" in Arabic and Russian.

Galina Antosevich, Head of the Department of Computerization of Library and Information Processes at the Scientific and Technical Library, presented an excerpt from the poem "Ruslan and Lyudmila" in French.

The elegy "The Prophet" was performed in Spanish by Ulyana Shakirova, Head of the Department of Information Support and Academic Mobility of SSTU.

During the literary evening, the poems of the great classic were presented in Russian, Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Indonesian, Bengali, Indian, Kalmyk, Turkmen, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Uzbek, Tatar languages. Students also performed musical compositions based on Pushkin's poems.

Public relations specialist Alexey Muratov summed up the eventful evening, noting the unique, sincere and bright atmosphere.

At the end of the evening, Timofey Leshchenko, Deputy Minister of Internal Policy and Public Relations of the Saratov Region, expressed gratitude to the State Technical University for the high level of organization of the Pushkin Day of Russia and hope for expanding the format of the event next year.
