SSTU participates in the Russian Education Exhibition in Beijing
A delegation of Russian universities under supervision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation is actively participating in the Russian Education Exhibition “Russian Universities Day”, organised by Rossotrudnichestvo at the China Education Expo (CEE) in Beijing.
400 educational organisations from 38 countries and regions around the world are participating in the exhibition, with 18 countries presenting national pavilions.
The Russian pavilion brought together more than 20 universities at the exhibition, which presented their educational programmes. It became one of the most visited, with more than 80 people participating in its work. Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov is represented by Vice-Rector for International Relations Tatyana Kasaeva and Director of the Institute of Applied Information Technologies and Communications Svetlana Kumova.
The universities participating in the delegation are holding seminars, presentations and meetings devoted to the prospects for cooperation between Russian and Chinese universities, the specifics of admitting foreign students to Russia, issues related to the study and dissemination of the Russian language in China and new standards in education as well.
Also, ahead of the exhibition, a methodological seminar on promoting the Russian language in China was held at the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing. Igor Pozdnyakov, Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in China and representative of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, gave a welcoming speech and a presentation on Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education. Tatyana Urzhumtseva, head of the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing, spoke about the importance and nuances of establishing business contacts with Chinese partners for the implementation of joint educational projects.
Seminar participants presented their reports on the use of high technologies in education, ways to promote Russian education in China, and the specifics of selecting Chinese citizens for study in Russia within the framework of the Russian Government's quota.
The methodological seminar was a useful and important step towards the creation of joint Russian-Chinese projects in the field of education.
