SSTU students participate in the World Atomic Week International Forum
To mark the 80th anniversary of the atomic industry, the World Atomic Week forum is being held at VDNKh in Moscow.
The meeting of the Global Atomic Forum, held at the Atom Museum, was attended by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Acting President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Iranian Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran Mohammad Eslami, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev, and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
The participants of the forum included Russian and international students from the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov: Fourth-year Bachelor's students at the Institute of Power Engineering: Diana Blozhkina, Alexandra Onkorova, Gleb Proshin and Kerim Aganyazov (Turkmenistan); second-year Master's student at the Institute of Urban Planning, Architecture and Construction: Amer Adam Mohamed Mahmoud Elbaz (Egypt); third-year Bachelor's student at the Institute of Applied Information Technologies and Communications: Younis Ahmed Hamad Yahya (Sudan).
The forum, organised by the Rosatom State Corporation, includes an exhibition of the achievements of the Russian nuclear industry and its partners. The business programme includes the following thematic tracks: Affordable Clean Energy’, “Industrial Innovation: Improving Production”, “Ecology: Making the Planet Cleaner”, “Advanced Medicine: Guarding People's Health”, “Digital Breakthrough”, “Mobility: Logistics Without Borders”, “Comfortable Environment” and “Science and Education: The Engine of Progress”.
The forum also includes the second Composites Without Borders Youth Festival, featuring masterclasses, an exhibition of modern nuclear technologies, a visit to the Atom Museum and a diverse sports and music programme, as well as an introduction to the cuisines of nuclear cities. The youth programme brought together over 19,000 young people from more than 100 countries worldwide.
SSTU students visited an exhibition on the nuclear industry's contribution to economic development, the role of modern technologies in people's lives, and the importance of preserving the natural environment.
The forum continues until 28 September. Participants have two more days of a packed programme ahead of them.
