SSTU discussed issues of harmonization of interethnic relations

A meeting with students of the Saratov State Technical University named after Yuri Gagarin was held, aimed at harmonizing interethnic relations and preventing interfaith conflicts in the youth environment.

The event was attended by Anna Strogova, Vice-rector for social and educational work of SSTU, Timofey Leshchenko, head of the department for work with national and religious organizations of the Ministry of Internal Policy and Public Relations of the region, Evgeniya Tokareva, head of the Department of International Communications, Galina Kuznetsova, representative of the Center for Countering Extremism of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Saratov region, Priest Alexander Kuzmin, deputy head of the missionary department of the Saratov diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, and a representative of the Saratov State Technical University.

"One of the priority tasks of Polytechnic is to form social and cultural adaptation of foreign students, to create a healthy and friendly atmosphere in the student environment. The guys come from different countries, are far away from home and parents. Our task is to provide not only quality education, but also comfortable living conditions, including the involvement of students in the cultural, creative and sports life of our city and country", - Evgeniya Tokareva said.

More than 200 students, including foreign students from Egypt, Morocco, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
