The contactless teaching process: IOS, Moodle

Dear colleagues, dear students!

To preserve the university community’s health Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov is implementing protective measures issued by the RF government against the COVID-19. In accordance with order No.397 dated 14.03.2020 of Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the SSTU order No.246-П dated 16.03.2020 “On additional measures to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection”, the contactless teaching process is organized in SSTU’s electronic teaching environment (IOS) and with using MOODLE distance learning technologies.

The teaching programs of higher education, additional professional education, and secondary vocational education will be implemented in full, the teachers engage with the students in virtual space - in the IOS following the teaching schedule, via emails, mobile phones, social networks and messengers. Particularly, the ‘’Forum’’ tab on IOS’s ‘’Directions’’ unit is being used for teaching, communication, sharing lectures and materials, discussions. All information on SSTU IOS you can find here.

Please note that university has completely switched to remote operation; the access to all university premises is prohibited. The SSTU hostels are functioning according to the requirements of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) for intensive sanitary and hygienic control. Foreign students are encouraged to contact the departments by phone and email, the International Relations Office staff is ready to assist in case of any questions.

SSTU continues to teach foreign students distantly as well even if they decide to leave Russia for their home country for the quarantine period.
