Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov invites you to study at the Preparatory Language Centre

 of the International Relations Department. This training is intended for all foreign citizens and stateless persons who are interested in Russia, its culture, traditions, customs, and greatness, and who wish to obtain a higher education through bachelor's, specialist, master's, or postgraduate programmes at the country's leading technical university - Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov. 

Russian as a Foreign Language

The supplementary general education programme is designed for foreign citizens and stateless persons who wish to obtain higher education through bachelor's, specialist, master's and postgraduate programmes at higher education institutions in the Russian Federation.

The additional general education programme complies with state educational requirements for programmes that prepare foreign citizens and stateless persons for professional educational programmes in Russian.

Programme content: Russian as a foreign language; scientific style of speech: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology.

Form of study: full-time.

Programme duration: 720 hours.

Study period: 6-10 months (September-June of the academic year).

Start of training: September-November of the academic year.

The final assessment of students' performance in the programme is carried out in the form of a written exam (final test) (Russian language on the topics: vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, writing, speaking) and oral form (Russian language on topics: vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, writing, speaking) and in the form of a test (academic style) based on a 100-point grading system.

Upon successful completion of the final examination, the student receives a standardised certificate (level B1).

Tuition fees for individuals and/or legal entities in accordance with contracts for the provision of paid educational services.

Annual tuition fees: 95 000 roubles.


Pre-university training: engineering and technical profile

The supplementary general education programme is designed for foreign citizens and stateless persons who wish to obtain higher education in engineering and technical programmes at the bachelor's, specialist, master's and postgraduate levels at higher education institutions in the Russian Federation.

The supplementary general education programme complies with state educational requirements for programmes that prepare foreign citizens and stateless persons for professional education programmes in Russian.

Programme content: Russian as a foreign language; academic writing; mathematics; physics; computer science.

Programme duration: 2,160 classroom hours.

Study period: 7-10 months (September-June of the academic year).

Start of training: September-October of the academic year.

The supplementary general education programme is designed for foreign citizens and stateless persons who wish to obtain higher education in medical programmes at the bachelor's, specialist, master's and postgraduate levels at higher education institutions in the Russian Federation.

The supplementary general education programme complies with state educational requirements for programmes that prepare foreign citizens and stateless persons to study professional educational programmes in Russian.

Programme content: Russian as a foreign language; academic style of speech; chemistry; biology; physics.

Accommodation in a student dormitory

Students are provided with comfortable accommodation in a dormitory located a 5-minute walk from the university.

The fee for accommodation in the dormitory is 2,000 roubles per month.


Benefits of studying at the Language and Subject Preparation Centre

  • Training is conducted by highly qualified professionals in groups of 13-20 people, formed in accordance with the arrival dates of students, the level of the basic education programme on which further training is planned and the profiles of the educational programmes that the student will subsequently study.
  • Preparatory Language Centre of the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov, training is provided both at the expense of individuals and/or legal entities in accordance with contracts for the provision of paid educational services and within the quota for the education of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation established by the Government of the Russian Federation.
  • Students studying within the quota for foreign citizens’ education in the Russian Federation, established by the Government of the Russian Federation, receive a scholarship for the entire duration of their studies.
  • Students are provided with teaching materials, free access to university infrastructure, an individualised approach to teaching, assistance with social and cultural adaptation and support with the educational process.
  • Classes are conducted in person.
  • You will combine studying Russian with an engaging stay in the amazing city of Saratov on the banks of the great Volga River. There are many places to visit in the city. These include the museum of the first cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, sights from the 18th and 19th centuries, and an amusement park. Take a boat trip along the Volga and through the beautiful streets of Saratov. You will easily make friends with many Russian and foreign students and find many new hobbies and interests.
  • Students who have chosen Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov are provided with assistance in submitting documents for enrolment in bachelor's, specialist, master's and postgraduate programmes. In order to grant the right to study at Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov, students are assisted in completing the education recognition procedure.
  • Those wishing to study at Preparatory Language Centre will be issued with an invitation to enter the Russian Federation. After signing a contract for paid educational services, a visa will be issued for the entire duration of the course. Students of the Language and Subject Preparation Centre are provided with accommodation in a dormitory located a few minutes' walk from the university, with registration at the place of residence for the duration of their studies. Assistance is provided in obtaining medical insurance, undergoing medical examination and fingerprint registration.
