Foreign students of SSTU were told about the history of Saratov region in the Museum of local lore

Foreign students and students of Russian language courses visited the exhibition of Saratov regional museum of local lore "History of Saratov region from ancient times till the beginning of the 20th century".

In the halls of the museum the participants of the event were shown a unique exhibition, where they could get acquainted with the features of everyday life and traditions of the inhabitants of Saratov region in details. With the help of interactive elements of the tour students were able to plunge into the history of the region: with great pleasure they took part in a Russian tea party with samovar and gingerbread, plunged into the atmosphere of an old Russian wedding.

The story of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin aroused big interest. The guide told about his close ties with Saratov region and Saratov State Technical University, and also showed the main exhibit of the hall - the plane YAK-18, on which Yuri Gagarin learned to fly.

The event was held in the frames of the project "Native Land for Everybody", the aim of which is to familiarize foreign students with the national wealth and development of the region. The project is supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.
