Foreign students of Russian language courses learned the history of Saratov region
Last year Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov created International Students Association that aims at helping foreign students to adapt and socialize during their studies at the university as well as strengthening mutual understanding and creating trusting relationships.
Within the frames of the Association international students and Russian language courses students visit theaters, museums, Saratov and Engels sights, take part in scientific and creative life of the University.
This time students visited Saratov regional museum of local lore. The museum features exhibits that show the diversity of nature and history of our region from ancient times to the present day. During the excursion the students learned about the history of the region from ancient times till nowadays, about the peculiarities and variety of the local flora and fauna.
Russian language teachers Yulia Taboyakova (senior lecturer of "History and Cultural Studies" department) and Olga Akatova (associate professor of "Media Communications" department) accompanied the students.
The students from Egypt, Morocco and Iraq were particularly interested in the life of the inhabitants of our region, their clothes, jewelry, home decoration and tools. Part of the exhibition with interactive elements, devoted to the life of the first cosmonaut of the planet Yuri Gagarin, attracted special attention.
