SSTU expands international collaboration with the Republic of Kazakhstan

A delegation of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan on a working visit. The delegation consists of the Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Transport Alexey Kazinsky, as well as employees of the Department of International Communications: Head of Department Evgeniya Tokareva, Deputy Head Ilya Terentyev.

A number of meetings with universities and other educational institutions of Kazakhstan, public authorities and public organizations are planned.

The development of interuniversity cooperation is one of the main goals of the working visit to Kazakhstan. The first meeting was held at the M.Utemisov West Kazakhstan University. The negotiations between the delegation of SSTU and Nurlan Sergaliev, acting Chairman of the Board - Rector of University took place.

The relevance of the meeting is due to the fact that the Ural region needs specialists in engineering profile. Polytechnic successfully trains specialists in the field of information technology, engineering, urban studies, social and economic direction and is ready to expand the geography of its educational services. 

In March 2022 multi-year partnership between SSTU and West Kazakhstan University was prolonged by agreement between Acting Rector, Professor, Doctor of Historical Science Sergey Naumov and Acting Chairman of the Board - Rector Nurlan Sergaliev. During the meeting the possibilities of cooperation and joint work of the two universities were discussed. In the near future a road map for academic mobility will be drawn up. It is planned to organize trainings for representatives of universities and joint educational programs.
