Foreign students of SSTU got acquainted with Saratov plant production

In May 2022 the students of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Transport of Yuri Gagarin Saratov State Technical University of Saratov visited the production complex of the Saratov Tank Metal Works. Among the visitors was a 3rd year student from Jordan - Bagain Waleed.

At the beginning of the excursion the technical director of Saratov TMK Plant Alexander Zmeev introduced the students and the professor of the Engineering Technology Department Igor Yankin the history of the plant, the objects and their territorial location in the country, the special requirements for strength and safety of fuel and lubricant storage in the containers produced by the plant. He paid special attention to the complicated technology of manufacturing large-size tanks with the capacity up to 200 tons.

Then students were taken through design and technological departments where the products of the plant are designed and through the production workshops. The excursion was carried out with observance of anti-covid measures and safety measures.

Bagain Waleed shared his impressions: "I am amazed by the scale of production and plan to return to the plant as an intern."
