Foreign students and students of Russian language courses visited Saratov Islamic complex. The excursion was organized by International Communications Department of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov.

For the convenience of the participants the event was conducted in two languages - Russian and Arabic. During the excursion the students from Morocco learned about the history of Islam in the Volga Region and the connection of Saratov with the Arabian world for thousands of years. For example, the ancient Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta visited Uvek and made a colorful description of it.

The students were also shown ancient Arabographic sources collected on the territory of the region.

The history of the ancient cities of the Volga region was presented in the presentation "On the Traces of the Golden Horde Cities."

"Such events play an important role in communications with foreign students, helping them to penetrate more deeply into the multifaceted history and culture of Russia, as well as helping to create trusting relationships and more effective studies," said Alexei Muratov, a member of the Politech International Communications Department.
