Foreign students were told how to spend their holidays in Saratov region

Chairman of the Saratov Region Tourism Committee Viktoria Borodyanskaya held a meeting with foreign students of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov and students of Russian language courses. She told the students about the tourism opportunities of the region during the summer holidays.

For the convenience of the students, who have been studying Russian for only a few months, simultaneous interpretation of the meeting was broadcast in Arabic.

"Saratov region is unique. Our region is the only one in the Russian Federation that has three climate zones on its territory. There is no such second region. Thanks to the three climatic zones, we can rest on ski resorts in winter and on the Volga beaches in summer. We can say that in Saratov region there are all kinds of recreation that are available in our country", - said Victoria Borodyanskaya.

She also noticed that there is a trend for active and ecological tourism, a great demand for rafting and ecological trails. Foreigners stressed that they have no experience of such holidays.

Participants asked many questions about recreation on the Volga, in particular about where the most comfortable beaches are and whether there are free beaches among them.

"Last year we opened a new, modern beach in the city center with good infrastructure, which developed even in winter. Now there was built a summer cinema, sports, children's walking areas, cafes, sanitary areas. Entrance to this and other city beaches is free," - the chairman of the Committee on Tourism said.

The students asked what memorable souvenirs can be brought back to their home country from Saratov. In response, Victoria Borodyanskaya told about traditional Saratov symbols and souvenirs. In turn, students from Egypt, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Jordan and Haiti told what souvenirs are the best to bring from their home countries.

Mustafa Salakheldin, a first-year student of the Institute of Urbanism, Architecture and Construction from Egypt, asked where guests of the city could go to find out about interesting and tourist spots. The speaker noted that since last year Saratov has had a Tourist Information Center, where guests of the city are provided with information and advice.

At the end of the meeting the foreign students thanked Victoria Borodyanskaya for the interesting and colorful story and noted that after such a presentation they want to see with their own eyes all the tourist places of Saratov region.
