Issues of harmonizing interethnic relations were discussed at a meeting with international students at the SSTU

The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Internal Policy and Public Relations of the Saratov region, aimed to promote harmony among different ethnic groups and prevent interfaith conflicts among young people.
The invited speakers discussed in detail the issues of interethnic relations, emphasizing the dangers of extremist ideologies and the risks associated with spreading fake information and participating in suspicious groups on social media. They recommended being careful and verifying the accuracy of information received.
It was noted that various groups and information sources promoting radical, extremist, and terrorist ideologies are currently targeting young people. In her welcoming speech, Tatiana Kasaeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations at SSTU, stressed the significance of this event and expressed gratitude to the speakers for their collaboration with the university.
Timofey Leshchenko, Deputy Minister of Internal Policy and Public Relations of the region, expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the SSTU for organizing the event and provided information about the department's work in the field of ethnic and religious relations. He emphasized the importance of inter-ethnic dialogue and compliance with Russia's laws and regulations.
For international students who wished to learn more about the region's cultural traditions, he suggested visiting Victory Park, the Ethnographic Complex "National Village of Peoples of Saratov Region," the Yuri Gagarin Space Exploration Park, and the religious buildings of various religious denominations, including the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Saratov and the Saratov Mosque.
In addition, representatives from the heads of national cultural organizations in the region addressed the event. They emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony in modern society and identified current challenges in this area. They encouraged students to participate in academic, sporting, and social activities.
The event was held in an open-dialogue format, allowing students to ask questions and receive comprehensive answers. International students at SSTU actively participate in a wide range of socio-cultural activities as part of their regular program.
