"Keyword" competition

Implementing the Strategy of the State Ethnic Policy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025, the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs is accepting applications for the IV All-Russian Award for the Preservation of Linguistic Diversity "Key Word" (competition of the best implemented projects.

«Key word» is the all-Russian competition of projects, which is aimed at promoting the preservation of the linguistic diversity of the Russian Federation, encouraging work to create conditions and opportunities in Russia that ensure equal and respectful treatment of all peoples living in our country, their languages, traditions, and cultural heritage of any, even the smallest ethnic group.

The competition is intended to highlight the versatility of Russia as a country with a unique linguistic diversity, to encourage the special contribution of laureates to the preservation of the linguistic heritage of the Russian Federation, as well as the promotion of the Russian language abroad.

The award was initiated by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs of Russia in 2017 with the aim of helping to preserve the country's linguistic diversity.


The award provides 7 nominations:

Best Multimedia Project;

Best Publishing Project;

"Best scientific project";

Best Social Initiative;

"For the preservation of the languages of small-numbered peoples";

"For special services";

“Socially Responsible Business” (special category).

Applications are accepted until December 1, 2020 to the email address slovo@fadn.gov.ru, after which the Expert Council, which includes well-known world scientists and public figures involved in the preservation of linguistic diversity, will start evaluating projects. The result of the competition is the award of the authors of the best implemented projects.
