On December 10, on the World Football Day, the Department of Physical Education of SSTU organized a mini-footbal competition among foreign students.

The students were assigned to teams by country and took part in the competition with pleasure, as they are fans of football.

Footballers from Russia, Morocco, Iraq, two teams from Egypt, and a team with university teachers played in the event.

At the end of the match, the athletes from Russia won with a score of 4:2. The team from Morocco got silver medals. Iraq team took the 3rd place. 4th place went to athletes from Egypt.

In-between the matches the athletes were supported by dance routines of students of the technical university cheerleading team under the leadership of Vlada Pilyushkina.

The following athletes were awarded in special nominations:

• Best goalkeeper - Tuama Hasan Al;
• Best Defender - Mohammed Zayed Fait Mohammed;
• Best striker - Hamza Berima;
• Best Player - Nikolay Ugodnikov.

Dmitry Gureev, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education and Sport, was the head referee and was responsible for the event.
