Graduates of Preparatory Language Centre Receive Certificates of Completion
A ceremony was held at the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov to present certificates to graduates of the Preparatory Language Centre. This year, more than 100 students from Sudan, Bangladesh, Turkmenistan, Lebanon, Morocco and Algeria received certificates confirming their successful completion of the programmes.
In a first time ever for the Centre, students from the Republic of Mali, Mongolia, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Guinea and the Republic of Cameroon – who had come to SSTU under a quota allocated by the Government of the Russian Federation – have become graduates.
Tatyana Kasaeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Sergey Klinger, Vice-Rector for Comprehensive Security and Tamara Budanova, Head of the International Relations Department, addressed the new graduates with congratulations and words of encouragement. They congratulated the students on successfully completing the programme and wished them every success in their future studies.
The festive atmosphere of the event was enhanced by the university’s artistic groups. The vocal studio ‘Gravitation’ performed for the guests and graduates, as did Chakounang Andje Kouadjiep, a graduate of the Preparatory Language Centre, who shared her inspiration through music.
During their studies, the students actively took part in the socio-cultural adaptation programme organised by the International Relations Department. Folklore and poetry evenings, festivals, educational events, quizzes, theatre performances and various activities were regularly organised for international students.
The Sudanese graduate Mohamed Ateym Bakor Al-Rabie is a prime example of successful adaptation:
‘I came to the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov from Sudan and learning Russian became a real window into a new culture for me. I particularly remember the packed schedule of events and the thoughtful support from the teachers and staff of the International Relations Department — they genuinely helped us settle into our new lives. Now I plan to stay at SSTU and complete my higher education here’.
