Representatives of SSTU participate in the Third Forum of Rectors of Russian and Vietnamese Universities
The Third Forum of Rectors of Russian and Vietnamese Universities has opened at Hanoi University of Transport and Communications.
The event is a key highlight of the Year of Russian-Vietnamese Cooperation in Science and Education, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam.
Intended to serve as a platform for dialogue in the fields of education, scientific research and technological cooperation, the forum brought together representatives from over 100 Vietnamese and Russian universities.
The delegation from the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov is represented by Tatyana Kasaeva, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Svetlana Kumova, Head of the Institute of Applied Information Technologies and Communications.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation and Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
‘Within the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, the education and youth agenda has traditionally been a priority. Significant results have been achieved: there are more than 500 agreements in force between universities and scientific organisations, around 3,000 Vietnamese citizens are studying at Russian universities, and the annual government quota – one of the largest – amounts to 1,000 free places,’ says Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The event will feature themed discussions and panel sessions focusing on engineering education, information security, linguistics and intercultural communication.
