SSTU Expands International Cooperation within the Framework of Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia

The 13th Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia, entitled ‘Economic Cooperation between Regions – the Foundation of Sustainable Development in Belarus and Russia’, is taking place in Minsk.

The Forum was organised by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

Elena Koneshova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Employer Relations and Sergei Ivanov, Head of the Department of Engineering Geometry and Fundamentals of CAD, from Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov, were part of the official delegation from the Saratov Region to participate in the Forum.

The Forum’s programme includes thematic sessions on topical issues relating to the development of Russian-Belarusian cooperation, such as the implementation of joint innovation projects, the development of the agro-industrial complex and cooperation in the humanities.

As part of the session entitled ‘Cooperation in the implementation of joint innovation projects to strengthen the technological sovereignty of the Union State’, a cooperation agreement was signed between Yuri Gagarin Saratov State Technical University of Saratov and Brest State Technical University. The document was signed by Andrei Parfievich, Rector of Brest State Technical University and Elena Koneshova, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Liaison with Employers of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov.

The signing of the agreement marked a further step in strengthening partnership ties between higher education institutions in Russia and Belarus and confirmed the commitment of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov to expanding international scientific and educational cooperation.

The implementation of joint projects with Brest State Technical University will contribute to the development of innovation, academic mobility, the exchange of expertise and the training of highly qualified specialists who meet the modern requirements of technological development within the Union State.
