Anniversary of the Lifting of the Siege of Leningrad: a Themed Lecture is held at SSTU

A lecture dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad was held at the Gagarin Saratov State Technical University.

The event was attended by Russian and foreign students from Bangladesh, Turkey, Mongolia, Togo, Sudan, Morocco, and Turkmenistan, which emphasised the international nature of the event and the importance of preserving historical memory for representatives of different countries and cultures.

The lecture was given by Alexander Zakharov, Professor of the Department of History and Philosophy of the Socio-Economic Institute of SSTU, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor. During his speech, the professor highlighted the main stages of the siege of Leningrad, spoke about the heroism of the inhabitants of the besieged city and the significance of this event in the history of the Great Patriotic War. The lecture aroused keen interest among the audience and was followed by a discussion.

Holding such lectures contributes to the formation of a respectful attitude towards historical heritage among students and the strengthening of intercultural dialogue.
