Foreign Students of SSTU Get Acquainted with Maslenitsa Traditions

Foreign students of the Language Preparatory Centre of the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov from Lebanon, Sudan, Morocco, Turkey, Mongolia, Mali and Guinea took part in the Maslenitsa folk festival, which was held in Library No. 9.

The guests learned about Maslenitsa traditions, danced in circles and participated in folk games. One of the highlights of the festival was a performance by the Lelnik ensemble from Children’s Music School No. 14 and students from the Sobinov Saratov Conservatory.

A book and illustration exhibition dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and a themed photo zone were also prepared for the participants. The event was held as part of the library’s ‘Discover Russia’ project and was aimed at introducing foreign students to the cultural traditions of the country and developing intercultural communication.
