Master’s Student of the Institute of Urban Planning, Architecture and Construction is a Winner of an IAEA Scholarship

Following the results of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship Programme competition, established by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in 2025, the scholarship was awarded to Aida Azhigaliyeva, a foreign student of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov. Aida came to study in Saratov from the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2024, she won the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Ecology (with international participation), organised by the Department of Ecology and Technosphere Safety at Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov. She is currently a second-year master’s student at the Institute of Urban Planning, Architecture and Construction, specialising in Ecology and Environmental Management, under a Russian Government quota.

‘Aida’s success is a natural result of her high motivation, determination, and serious approach to scientific work. She is actively involved in research in the field of ecology and natural resource use, demonstrates a deep interest in current issues of environmental safety in the nuclear industry, radiation control and natural resource management and participates in Rosatom State Corporation’s educational projects on biodiversity conservation and rational natural resource use. Receiving the Marie Skłodowska-Curie scholarship is recognition of her potential at the international level and a source of great pride for our university’, says Elena Tikhomirova, Head of the Department of Ecology and Technosphere Safety, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor.
